Ceangal Eolais · Learning Connection
Supporting youth, migrants, older adults and women across counties Cavan, Leitrim, Longford, Roscommon and Sligo since 2022.
Who We Are
Ceangal Eolais Limited first started as a collective in 2022, formed by volunteers from youth work, community development and adult education backgrounds. We set out to address the emerging social, educational and integrational issues impacting rural communities in the wake of the pandemic.
Since then, the collective has been formalised as an SME. We are currently a community worker staff team of four women, working across counties Louth, Cavan, Kildare and Laois.
Ceangal Eolais is Irish for 'Learning Connection' — a name that captures what we do every day: connecting people with the knowledge, support and each other that they need to thrive.
"Thriving communities are built through cooperation, shared experiences, and mutual support."
What We Do
We deliver tailored programmes across four key areas, each designed around the real needs of rural communities in Ireland.
Workshops, peer support groups, and outreach activities focused on resilience, fostering connections, and mental health awareness for young people and adults.
Drop-in sessions, access to state services, and language support — helping migrant families integrate and thrive in rural Irish communities.
Intergenerational projects, social clubs, and creative workshops helping older residents stay connected and combat isolation.
Personal development, well-being, community leadership and mindfulness-based programmes for women navigating rural life and new motherhood.
How We Work
Our work is rooted in community development practice. We believe that most social isolation and exclusion issues can be addressed first and foremost through inclusive, supportive communication — most often over a cup of tea.
Our staff host regular in-person coaching circles and community drop-ins across the regions where we live and work, providing one-to-one and group support to all members of our rural communities.
